Prokaryotes and Eukaryotes
Similarities
Both have plasma membranes
Ribosomes
Cytoplasm
And DNA
Both have plasma membranes
Ribosomes
Cytoplasm
And DNA
This means they both can allow substances in and out of the cell, assemble proteins, have jelly a like substance, and the can both multiply or reproduce.
Differences
Eukaryotes have membrane organelles including a nucleus
Prokaryotes lack a nucleus and membrane bound organelles
Prokaryotes lack a nucleus and membrane bound organelles
This means that eukaryotes can do anything a plant or animal cell can on account of its nucleus and membrane bound organelles. On the other hand a prokaryote will always be unicellular and can only do a singular function at once because of its lack of membrane bound organelles like a nucleus.
Plant and Animal Cells
Similarities
Both have a nucleus
Cytoplasm
Cell membrane
Mitochondria
And Ribosomes
Both have a nucleus
Cytoplasm
Cell membrane
Mitochondria
And Ribosomes
This means they both have a central control system, jelly like substances, can allow substances in and out of the cell, can make energy, and assemble proteins.
Differences
Animal Cells specifically have lysosomes and centrioles
Plant Cells have a cell wall, chloroplasts, and a large central vacuole
Plant Cells have a cell wall, chloroplasts, and a large central vacuole
This means that animal cells can break down carbohydrates, and can be furthered helped in cell division. While plant cells can further protect and support itself, produce energy for photosynthesis, and store more water and other materials.
